Quartz Celebrates First Year Successes of Mental Well-being Program

Quartz members decrease rates of mental health symptoms like depression and anxiety, report better physical wellness and less stress in first year of Quartz mental well-being programs with AbleTo.

Kicking off Mental Health Awareness Month, Quartz today celebrated positive member outcomes from the first year of the Quartz mental well-being programs with AbleTo. Last May, Quartz announced the launch of the innovative new suite of personalized virtual therapy and coaching programs plus an on-demand self-care app for eligible Quartz members.

“Mental Health Awareness Month is a crucial time to shed light on the increasing demand for mental well-being support. Locally, we are making an impact and celebrating one year of positive member outcomes with Quartz mental well-being programs with AbleTo.” said Victoria Egizio, PhD, Quartz Director of Behavioral Health. “As a clinical psychologist by training, I understand how hard it can be to find high-quality behavioral health services – there’s a lot of information out there, and it can be overwhelming. Quartz’s virtual mental well-being program makes it easy. We offer a variety of options to our members, all within one platform. In the first year, our members have shared that Quartz mental well-being programs with AbleTo are easy to use, and we’re thrilled to see that participating members are experiencing significant progress with mental health symptoms and overall well-being.”

Through the program, Quartz members can access virtual coaching or therapy appointments by phone or video within days. Plus, teens and adults can leverage Self Care+, an on-demand wellness app, featuring articles, journaling prompts, meditations, and more science-backed resources. Members enrolled in Quartz mental well-being programs with AbleTo are working on a wide range of focus areas including work and family stress, mood, anxiety, panic, personal growth, healthy living, improving relationships, and coping with medical conditions. Self-care tools are available to members starting at 13 years old, and one-on-one support with a professional is available to adults.

Highlights from the first year of the program include:

  • 1,856 members used the Quartz mental well-being programs with AbleTo in 2023.
  • Members report decreased rates of mental health symptoms like depression and anxiety, along with better physical wellness and less stress.
  • Members are often offered appointments within as few as two days, significantly reducing member wait times when compared to industry averages.
  • Over 90% of members have reported satisfaction with the program services.

“Quartz has been proud to leverage our mental well-being programs over the past year to ensure we have flexible ways to meet our members’ needs,” added Egizio. “We recognized how hard it can be to reach out for behavioral health support, and the Quartz mental well-being programs with AbleTo offer powerful tools to meet our members where they are, when they’re ready. With on-demand self-care resources and quick access to one-on-one support with a professional, our members don’t have to struggle alone.”

Quartz health plans eligible for the mental well-being services include most commercial fully insured, State of Wisconsin Group Health Insurance Program, Medicaid, and Quartz Medicare Advantage (HMO) and Dual Eligible plans.* Quartz members interested in accessing Quartz mental well-being programs with AbleTo can see which programs they qualify for and sign up by visiting AbleTo.com/Quartz
