Accredited NCQA Health Plan logo

We are proud to be accredited by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), a non-profit organization that works to improve healthcare quality in the United States. NCQA evaluates health plans to ensure the highest standards are met. Our Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and Exchange products have all earned NCQA accreditation. The NCQA conducts regular reviews of accredited plans and provides a Health Plan Rating, updated annually in September.

NCQA accreditation – quality measures

There are three types of quality measures used to achieve NCQA accreditation

  1. To monitor clinical quality health plans must participate in the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®). HEDIS includes more than 90 measures that monitor how well the plan can deliver care to members related to areas such as preventive care, management of conditions including diabetes and high blood pressure, as well as behavioral health needs.
  1. To monitor patient experience health plans must participate in the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS®) survey. The CAHPS survey was developed by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. Each year, using this survey, health plans anonymously ask their members for feedback about their health care and health plans.
  1. Plans must also show that their operations meet NCQA’s expectations in these broad categories:
      • Quality Management and Improvement
      • Population Health Management
      • Network Management
      • Utilization Management
      • Credentialing and Re-credentialing
      • Member Experience
