Quartz Launches Mental Well-Being Programs with AbleTo

Kicking off Mental Health Awareness Month, Quartz launches personalized therapy, coaching, and self-care programs for eligible members through Quartz mental well-being platform in partnership with AbleTo.

Kicking off May Mental Health Awareness Month, Quartz today announced the launch of a range of mental well-being programs to members in partnership with AbleTo, a leading behavioral health provider. Quartz mental well-being programs with AbleTo are now available to eligible Quartz members. This includes access to a range of personalized virtual therapy and coaching programs led by experienced providers, with most appointments available in five days or less. Members can also obtain everyday emotional support through Self Care+, an on-demand digital app for mental wellness, included in their Quartz health plans at no additional cost. As the first partner to launch AbleTo’s full suite of programs, Quartz members will have access to a spectrum of support, from everyday wellness to more personalized care including therapy and coaching.

“As we kick off Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re excited to offer our members the Quartz mental well-being programs with AbleTo. These programs provide new ways to support their mental well-being,” said Dr. David Hanekom, Quartz Chief Medical Officer. “At Quartz, we believe in providing health coverage for the whole person. That means addressing the physical, mental, and socioeconomic health of our members. We know that behavioral health care is foundational to overall health and well-being, and we are thrilled to meet our members where they are. Our collaboration with AbleTo will provide access to high-quality behavioral health care services for our members, when and where they need them.”

Through Quartz mental well-being programs with AbleTo, eligible health plan members 18+ will have access to weekly sessions with a licensed therapist which are subject to cost-sharing, and access to weekly sessions with a behavioral coach at no additional cost.** Members aged 13+ will also have access to digital wellness tools and resources with Self Care+ at no additional cost.* Self Care+ and behavioral coaching are suited for members with mild concerns like stress, while therapy is optimal for members with covered mental health conditions like depression and anxiety and those facing serious health diagnoses. Members can access coaching and therapy programs through AbleTo.com/Quartz. Most initial appointments are available within five business days, significantly reducing member wait times when compared to industry averages.

“We know it can be difficult to ask for help, and we want our members to know they are not alone as they face the pressures of daily life,” added Hanekom. “When a member makes the important decision to seek additional support during times of stress, anxiety, or even in conjunction with a new diagnosis or other health concern, we want to eliminate the stress of waiting weeks or even months for help.”

Through Quartz, members can access AbleTo’s evidence-based mental well-being programs including one-on-one support from an experienced therapist and/or coach, coupled with digital tools and resources to solidify concepts discussed during sessions. Members will also have access to Self Care+, an on-demand program with evidence-informed mental well-being tools, meditations, mindfulness techniques, and library of curated content on topics such as parenting, grief, sleep quality, and more, to manage emotions and reduce feelings of anxiety.

“At AbleTo, our focus is on providing easy access to high-quality mental well-being programs, whether an individual needs therapy, coaching, or wellness support,” said Stephen Bewley, chief executive officer of AbleTo. “We’re thrilled to be working with Quartz to offer our full range of services to their members. With this partnership, Quartz members can access the right program to meet their unique needs and ultimately develop meaningful, lifelong skills to manage their mental health.”

The new suite of mental well-being products is the latest in a series of programs and initiatives Quartz has implemented to advance its care model to better meet the needs of plan members. In recent months, Quartz has also launched programs to help reverse type II diabetes and obesity, implemented advanced monitoring programs for members with congestive heart failure and hypertension, and expanded its product offerings to better reach additional populations within its service area.

Quartz health plans eligible for the new mental well-being services include most commercial fully insured, State of Wisconsin Group Health Insurance Program, Medicaid, and Quartz Medicare Advantage (HMO) and Dual Eligible plans.
