BadgerCare Plus Limited English Proficiency (LEP) Requirements

All contracted Medicaid providers must be able to provide translation/language services to BadgerCare Plus patients.

What happens if a clinic cannot/does not have language services available? The clinic should refer to LEP resources from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.

What happens if a provider decides not to or cannot meet the LEP requirement? If, after six months of Quartz’s discovery of the issue, it has not been resolved, Quartz’s contract manager will meet with the provider and discuss possible contract termination.

This is a non-negotiable line item in Quartz’s contract with our Medicaid providers. If a provider is not able to comply, Quartz will terminate the contract.
