The intern experience
Quartz offers full-time, paid summer internships in a variety of business specialties. Internship positions begin in June and last approximately 11 weeks. We also host a year-long actuarial intern program starting in January each year. Most of our internships are completed virtually or hybrid, but all interns are invited to our headquarters sometime during their experience.

What are the basic qualifications to apply?
Answer:
We welcome candidates who are actively pursuing education in a relevant field. Students must submit a transcript showing their completed credits. Additionally, applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States without requiring work visa sponsorship from Quartz, now or in the future. Specific qualifications will be outlined in the job posting.
Do I need a specific major to apply for an internship with Quartz?

Can I apply for an internship on a student visa?
Answer:
Quartz will only consider students who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States (US Citizen) and must not require work visa sponsorship from Quartz now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States. Students currently on any student or exchange visa (Example: F-1, CPT, OPT, J01, M-1, etc.) are not eligible to apply. If your status changes, we encourage you to apply.
What does the intern recruitment process look like?
Answer:
Recruiters will review your application, and if selected to move forward, you’ll be invited to complete a prescreening assessment. After completing the assessment, you’ll receive an invitation to schedule a brief phone call. After the phone call, finalists will be contacted via email to arrange a virtual interview with the hiring team. Candidates are encouraged to reach out to the recruiter for status updates.

Yes, you are encouraged to apply for internships that align with your interests, skills, and qualifications.
How long is the internship program?
Answer:
The internship program varies from 11 weeks to 1 year. Formal intern programming and events take place between June and August.
Our Actuarial Intern program begins in January each year and ends in December.
Are internships at Quartz paid?
Answer:
Yes, all our internships are paid.
Where are Quartz internships located?
Answer:

Quartz has offices in Madison, WI, and Onalaska, WI.
Is housing my responsibility if I receive an internship with Quartz?
Answer:
Yes, Quartz interns are responsible for making their own housing arrangements, including locating their own housing and paying for their housing. Please ask your recruiter for a list of local housing resources to kick-start your search.
Will I need a car?
Answer:
No, most internships offer flexible work arrangements (in-person, hybrid, or remote). If you plan on living in the Madison area, our headquarters are on the Madison Metropolitan bus route. Transportation to the office will be required a handful of times throughout the summer; carpools can be arranged.
Do students get hired after completing their internships with Quartz?
Answer:
Yes, some interns get hired after completing their internships.
This is not guaranteed and depends on business needs, budget, the interns’ performance, etc.
