About Medicaid
Medicaid is a state insurance program. You must apply for Medicaid to see if you can get coverage. It is based on certain criteria, like personal income.
How it works
Once you apply, DHS will let you know your status. If you can get Medicaid, you can enroll with a health plan provider of your choice. If you do not choose a health plan provider, the state will pick one for you.
