You and your baby’s health
during and after pregnancy

Quartz believes in healthy beginnings & healthy futures

There’s so much to learn about pregnancy and we’re here to help. From pregnancy planning and doula care to a variety of resources and support available up to and including the first 12 months of your child’s life, Quartz is here to help you feel at ease, educated, and empowered during this important health journey.

Start with healthy beginnings

Do you think you may be pregnant? Wondering where to get started? Step confidently into a healthy beginning using the information below.

Get connected to care
Contact your primary care provider as soon as you know you’re pregnant. They can help you decide what medical care options might be right for you and your baby:

  • Obstetricians – Medical specialists who have special training in prenatal care, birth, and high-risk pregnancies
  • Midwives – Certified experts who can provide prenatal care, birth, and after-birth care for low-risk pregnancies

Use our Find a Doctor tool to find a primary care provider or pregnancy specialist near you.

Once you establish care with medical experts, consider taking advantage of your doula benefit for extra support. With medical experts as your primary care takers, doulas add a layer of non-medical care – providing support, companionship, and advocacy to help you thrive and be well throughout your pregnancy.

Focus on you and your baby's health

Pregnancy is here – how is it going? Do you need more support? Here are some resources to help along the way.

Doula care
Access your doula benefits for extra support. Whether you’re looking for virtual or in-person care, doulas are available to provide additional, non-medical support throughout the duration of your pregnancy.

Tests and vaccinations
There are various tests and vaccinations recommended throughout pregnancy and into the first year of your child’s life. We encourage you to follow any guidelines or recommendations suggested by your providers and medical experts.

Feeding your baby
Proper nutrition during your baby’s first year of life is important for growth and development. Whether it’s breastfeeding, formula feeding, or a combination of the two, there are a variety of options to ensure your baby is getting what they need to thrive. Find what works best for you and your baby.

Quartz covers most breast pumps in full and can help you get one by mail or at a durable medical equipment (DME) supplier prior to your delivery. To find an in-network DME supplier, search for DME suppliers or call Quartz Customer Success at (800) 362-3310. You can also ask your obstetrics nurse or doctor to send a breast pump order to an in-network supplier near you.

Plan for healthy futures

We understand post-pregnancy looks different for everyone, which is why we encourage you to always be aware of you and your baby’s health and healing.

Keeping you and your baby well
The body goes through a lot during any delivery, so it’s important to follow-up with your provider about your physical health. We’re also here to support your baby’s health with coverage including wellness visits, immunizations, and preventive vaccines.

Your mental health matters
Pregnancy, becoming a parent, and adjusting to a new norm is exciting, but it can be a lot, too. With Quartz mental well-being programs with AbleTo, you get quick access to mental health providers and resources for anytime, anywhere support.

Continued feeding support
Sometimes it can be tricky finding the right method to feed your baby. If you have any issues, be sure to contact your primary care provider or the providers at the hospital where you had your baby – they can help, and most hospitals have 24/7 helplines. You can also call Quartz Care Management at (866) 884-4601 to connect with a Certified Lactation Counselor, if needed.

Post-pregnancy doula care
Doula benefits
can continue after delivery. From a focus on physical and mental healing – such as the signs and symptoms of postpartum depression – to helping you and your newborn with feedings and adapting to the new dynamics of a baby, doulas are available to help you, your baby, and your family thrive together.
