Important updates to improve your patients’ directory experience

Recently, Quartz made several enhancements to our online provider directory, Find A Doctor.

Quartz is committed to maintaining accurate and up-to-date provider directories, as required by regulatory standards. This includes verifying provider information at least every 90 days and removing listings when information cannot be confirmed. Accurate directories help members easily find in-network providers, access appropriate care, and avoid unexpected out-of-network charges.

Historically, Quartz directories have included only providers whose members can be directly contacted to schedule appointments. However, under Illinois network adequacy requirements (215 ILCS 124/25), Quartz must now also indicate whether listed providers are accepting appointment requests and new patients.

As part of this change, Quartz will begin identifying these details in both the online and PDF versions of our provider directories.

Quartz will now list certain provider types who may not be available for direct scheduling by members but who may still appear on an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) due to their role in delivering care. These providers typically work behind the scenes or are assigned during the course of treatment, rather than through direct member appointment scheduling.

Examples of these specialties and services include (but are not limited to):

Anesthesiology, Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology, Dietitians, Emergency Medicine, General Dentistry, Hospitalists, Neural Monitoring, Pathology, Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy.

Additionally, the following facility types will be included: Cardiac Monitoring, Imaging Centers, Laboratories.

These changes will apply only to the following Quartz provider directories:

  • Quartz One
  • Quartz One Achieve
  • Quartz One Achieve Plus
  • Quartz One Focus
  • Quartz Performance
  • Medicare Select
  • Performance Plus
  • Tiered Choice
  • Tiered Choice Plus

Directories not listed above will remain unchanged.
