Update to claims editing process: addition of a second code editor

Quartz is implementing a second code editing system, ACE from Claritev, to complement its existing claims editing software. This reflects a common industry practice of using multiple editing systems to support accurate and consistent claims adjudication.

Beginning June 29, 2026 claims will process sequentially through both systems first through the current code editor and then through the ACE editor.

Overview of the change

The addition of ACE is intended to support:

  • Consistent claims adjudication
  • Alignment with national coding guidelines
  • Standardized of review processes

What providers can expect

  • Claims will continue to process through the existing code editor as they do today
  • A second review will occur through the ACE editor immediately afterward
  • This sequential process is designed to enhance accuracy without changing submission workflows

Explanation of Benefits (EOB) messaging

The following Explanation of Benefits (EOB) message will be used and subject to change by Claritev:

“NATIONAL CODING GUIDELINES APPLIED TO CLAIM. FOR MORE INFORMATION, GO TO provider.marsauditor.com”

Claritev will be updating the associated URL, and the EOB messaging will be revised accordingly.

Summary

The addition of a second code editor introduces an additional level of review within the claims adjudication process. This approach is consistent with industry standards and supports alignment with national coding guidelines while maintaining existing provider workflows.
