Why does Physicians Plus require specialty medications to be filled at certain pharmacies?

Members utilizing specialty medications often need additional assistance in navigating through the drug delivery process, from the prompt delivery of medication, monitoring of adverse effects, to the safe and effective use of the medication.

Use of either Accredo Specialty Pharmacy, UnityPoint Health – Meriter Outpatient Pharmacy or select UW Health pharmacies provides this additional patient support. Also, utilizing such a network lowers overall drug costs.
