The Zika virus is passed on to humans by two kinds of mosquitoes that have not been found in Wisconsin. The virus has been associated with birth defects. If you’re pregnant or planning to become pregnant in the next couple of years and are planning a trip to a place where these mosquitoes live, like Mexico or the Caribbean, be sure to take steps to keep from being bitten.
