The Centers for Disease Control no longer recommends use of live attenuated influenza nasal vaccine (LAIV), also known as FluMist Quadrivalent. Unity Health Insurance will NOT provide coverage for the live attenuated influenza vaccine (LAIV) nasal vaccine. The available alternative that is covered is the inactivated influenza virus vaccine.
It is still recommended, for everyone six months and older, to receive the annual flu vaccination with either the inactivated influenza vaccine (IIV) or recombinant influenza vaccine (RIV).
Visit unityhealth.com/apps/findapharmacy to search for pharmacies eligible to provide flu
vaccinations. Alternatively, primary care providers offer influenza immunizations in clinics.
