Spring has sprung. Time to put the long, cold winter behind you and get outside again.
Spring is also the perfect time for vacation destinations. Are you all packed and ready to go? Don’t forget about your health while you’re gone. To help make sure you have the best trip ever, stay healthy with the following tips –
Are you covered?
Knowing what medical services your insurance covers before you go will give you peace of mind to enjoy your getaway even more. Check your plan’s documents to find out if you’re covered for the unexpected. And if your student is headed for break, make sure you both have the documents you need in case of a medical emergency. MyChart is the best place to find your benefits information. Don’t have a MyChart account yet? Just visit QuartzMyChart.com and follow the easy sign-up steps.
If you’re traveling to another country, check out cdc.gov for a full list of risks and recommended vaccines. Be sure to get vaccinated at least four to six weeks before your vacation to give the medicines time to start working.
Your swimsuit, sunglasses and flip-flops are in your bag. But don’t forget a travel-ready medical kit for bumps and bruises. And bring your prescription drugs and over-the-counter remedies, because nothing can ruin a vacation like a headache. And, of course, pack plenty of sunscreen.
Have a blast!
Last, but definitely not least, have fun. Vacation is an escape from the everyday. With a little preparation now, you’ll have a getaway to remember for a lifetime.
