When your doctor or care provider prescribes drugs, orders tests or advises care with a specialist, you might first need a prior authorization (PA for short).
Certain Quartz plan members will have access to UW Health’s Care Anywhere Video Visits program and do not need to have a UW Health Primary Care Physician to use this service.

With winter upon us, you may need to seek medical care when it isn’t always ideal – especially when you’re sick in the middle of a snow storm! Certain Quartz plan members will have access to UW Health’s Care Anywhere Video Visits program and do not need to have a UW Health Primary Care Physician to use this service. If your plan currently has coverage for eVisits, you will have coverage for UW Health Care Anywhere beginning January 1, 2018.

UW Health Care Anywhere Video Visits app gives you easy, quick access to a medical provider, whenever you and your family need non-emergency care.

From the comfort of your home or work – even in the palm of your hand – Care Anywhere is available 24/7, providing video visits using the app on your smartphone, tablet or computer equipped with a web camera. You can download the mobile app on the App Store or get it on Google: “Care Anywhere University of Wisconsin.” When using the mobile app, data fees may apply.

Depending on your medical concern, the health care provider can provide a diagnosis, suggest follow-up care and prescribe medication, when appropriate. Providers are
available to see you for a video visit 24 hours a day, every day of the year. You must be in the state of Wisconsin to receive care.

Not all illnesses can be addressed via Care Anywhere. If necessary, you may be referred to another UW Health location to be evaluated.
