NCQA Health Plan Rating 2019-2020 badge

The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality through rigorous evaluations of contracted hospitals, clinics, and practitioners, health plan processes, and customer feedback. By earning accreditation through NCQA, Quartz demonstrates its commitment to offering the best in service and care for all of our member’s/participant’s needs.

NCQA evaluates health plans on elements that fall into seven broad categories –

  • Quality Management and Improvement
  • Population Health Management
  • Network Management
  • Utilization Management
  • Credentialing and Recredentialing
  • Members’ Rights and Responsibilities
  • Member Connections

Quartz first became accredited by NCQA in 2002. Since then, Quartz has kept the highest status. This shows our commitment to quality and customer service.

To determine health plan rating, NCQA evaluates each health plan in the areas of plan operation, member satisfaction and member health and prevention. Plans must meet or exceed national and / or regional performance in their Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®) and Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS®) results.

NCQA has recognized Quartz Health Benefit Plans Corporation (QHBPC) among the nation’s highest-rated health insurance plans for its commercial HMO / POS products. QHBPC’s overall rating was 4 out of 5 in NCQA’s Private Health Insurance Plan Ratings 2019-2020, while Quartz Health Plan Corporation’s (QHPC) medicare HMO product earning a 4.5 out of 5 in the 2019-2020 ratings.

**Please note that due to impacts of COVID-19, NCQA will not be releasing ratings in 2020.
