The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. The NCQA seal is a symbol of quality. This seal can only be used by companies that earn it. These companies must pass a rigorous and complete review of performance.


NCQA evaluates health plans on elements that fall into five broad categories –

  • Utilization Management
  • Quality Improvement
  • Credentialing
  • Members’ Rights and Responsibilities
  • Member Connections

Quartz first became accredited by NCQA in 2002. Since then, Quartz has kept the highest status. This shows our commitment to quality and customer service.

To determine health plan rating, NCQA evaluates each health plan in the areas of plan operation, member satisfaction and member health and prevention. Plans must meet or exceed national and / or regional performance in their Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®) and Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS®) results.

NCQA has recognized Quartz Health Benefit Plans Corporation (QHBPC) among the nation’s highest-rated health insurance plans for its commercial HMO / POS products. QHBPC’s overall rating was 4.5 out of 5 in NCQA’s Private Health Insurance Plan Ratings 2018-2019.
