There’s something special about fall. Leaves changing colors, especially vibrant this year. Sweater weather. Pumpkin spice lattes. That most American of holidays, Thanksgiving.

For many Quartz members, it’s also time to enroll in health insurance coverage for the coming year. Whether you are on a plan offered by your employer or an individual plan, we know health insurance can be complicated. These don’t-miss resources will help you understand your benefits and make the most of your coverage.

1. Health Plan Basics

Get started at Health Plans 101. Here you’ll find videos on How Health Insurance Works and Understanding Health Care Expenses, plus a glossary of insurance and medical terms and more.

Don’t forget to log in to MyChart to review your Quartz plan details —important coverage documents are updated each benefit year. If you don’t have MyChart, it’s a good time to see why so many Quartz members rely on MyChart for paperless communications, keeping track of claims, messaging Quartz Customer Service, and more. Go to QuartzMyChart.com and follow the prompts to set up your account.

2. Plan Selection

If you are enrolling through your employer, you’ve probably received a packet of material to help you choose the plan option that’s best for you. If you have questions or need additional guidance, reach out to your Human Resources department or Quartz sales representative.

If you have individual coverage through Quartz, the Health Insurance Marketplace, or MNsure (Minnesota residents only), we have extra resources especially for you. Review the “metal tiers” and be sure to download your Enrollment Guide and Checklist. You’ll receive information to renew your existing plan – simply follow the instructions. If you’re interested in exploring other options, get a quote from Quartz or contact an agent or broker you’ve worked with in the past.

3. Self-Care Support

At Quartz, your health and well-being is our top priority. That’s why we have digital tools that help you practice self-care on your schedule at no extra cost. Our free mobile apps include support for your emotional wellness, resources for family health, and relief from back pain. Explore our digital toolbox and get started living a better life.

Plus, be sure to work with your doctor or nurse to make sure that preventive screenings, tests, and immunizations are done at the right time. Learn more about free or reduced-cost preventive services.
