All month long, Quartz helps raise awareness and offers ways people can learn more about diabetes.

Are You at Risk?

Your genetics make you more prone for getting both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. However, Type 2 diabetes is also caused by lifestyle factors.

Resources to Help

The Wisconsin Institute for Healthy Aging offers workshops and classes to support our members living with diabetes, including –

  • Living Well with Chronic Conditions is a six-week class for managing one or more chronic conditions.
  • Healthy Living with Diabetes is a six-week class that covers topics such as healthy eating, exercise for
fitness and fun, relaxation techniques and more.

Call (608) 243-5690 or visit for help finding a class or workshop near you.
Both classes earn you points toward your Quartz Well
program*. Learn more.
