Quartz Health Solutions, Inc.’s (Quartz’s) Diversity and Inclusion Change Team has been hard at work helping Quartz build a diverse and inclusive workplace where differences are valued. With four active workgroups supporting our goals, the team’s successes in 2017 include –
- Updating our vendor Request for Proposal process to include questions about minority / women ownership status. We invited qualifying area companies to bid on Quartz services.
- Getting involved with minority recruitment at area colleges, universities and high schools. We were an employer partner of the Urban League of Greater Madison for their Healthcare Administrative Training Program and hired one graduate.
- Promoting volunteer opportunities and improved cultural competency training. Quartz sponsorships were highlighted on our intranet to increase employee awareness of our diversity and inclusion activities.
- Partnering with organizations to enhance diversity, including LGBT and Hmong groups, United Way, Boys & Girls Club, Centro Hispano, UW Health for the Madison OutReach Pride Parade, Latino Professional Association, YWCA La Crosse and Sauk County Development Corporation.
Learning more about cultural differences helps us build an environment of trust, respect and inclusion at Quartz, making a positive impact on employees and members alike. We look forward to this committee’s continued efforts in 2018.
