Immunizations save lives. They are the best way to help protect you or your child from certain contagious diseases. They also help reduce the spread of disease to others and prevent epidemics. Most are given as shots. They are sometimes called vaccines or vaccinations. Vaccines are important in preventing childhood and adult illnesses such as chickenpox, pertussis and measles.
To promote the importance of immunizing children, Unity offers the Fill It In and Win prize drawing for fully immunized 24-month old children. Entry cards are mailed to members when children turn 19-months of age. Parents just need to fill out the entry card with the date their child received his / her immunizations, the clinic where they were given and mail the card back. The child will be entered into the drawing for a variety of prizes. The drawings are two times a year, in the summer and winter.
